The survey is designed to identify brilliant businesses by asking the people who truly know about it – your employees. The survey will ask your employees to score your company and its management against a list of characteristics that categorise a best place to work. They will also have the opportunity to offer their personal opinions. The survey is anonymous, is treated in complete confidence, and should take about five - ten minutes to complete.

1. To enter the competition, click here and complete your company details and payment. If you are entering multiple sites, you will need to complete one entry per site.
2. You will receive an email from Korero with a link to the survey. This link is unique to your organisation.
3. Korero will also send you a sample email to send out to your employees to encourage their participation.
4. Employees will be asked to rate the company against criteria that identify and prioritise what is important to them at work and to answer five ‘killer questions’ about working for your organisation. There is also an opportunity to add their personal comments, providing you with valuable additional insights.

Once all the surveys have been completed and returned to Korero, a report will be compiled, with comparisons against peer averages and benchmarks against other companies that have entered the competition. Click here to see a sample report from Korero.

An overall score will be generated from your results, which will enable The Caterer and Korero to identify the top 30 Best Places to Work in Hospitality.

The Top 30

Those who make the Top 30 will be contacted in March 2026 to let them know if they are one of the Best Places to Work in Hospitality. Every company on the Top 30 will be invited to attend the awards evening where we will present the trophies and winners pack. The evening will be a glitzy networking drinks with canapés and lots of celebration for you and your team. The Top 30 will also be invited to purchase discounted tickets to the People Summit taking place in May 2026. This event is essential in people leader's calendars, covering pertinent topics and challenges throughout the industry and providing tools and case studies from speakers in the hospitality industry and beyond.

The Top six

The companies are scored from one to 30, and the Top 2 companies from the small, medium and large categories are invited to enter the Best Employer Award at the 2026 Cateys. If you are a top six company, you will be invited to provide a written entry to the Best Employer Award based on the 12 key stages of employee experience, as identified by Korero's People Plan. These entries are then carefully considered by the Cateys’ judges. Please see www.cateys.com for further information.
